Principal
Dr. Carrie Tucker
Dr. Tucker is a transformative educator whose unconventional path into educational leadership was shaped by a successful career in Corporate Wellness and managing her family-owned construction business. Her transition into education was driven by a deep concern that traditional systems were failing to adequately prepare students for the workforce.
Leveraging her real-world experience, Dr. Tucker has led significant change throughout South Carolina. She directed a comprehensive redesign of a Career and Educational Technology department, and partnered with Midlands Technical College and the University of Virginia to launch a cutting-edge, project-based STEM program.
Her expertise has been instrumental in supporting a variety of charter schools, where she has helped design curriculum, develop operational systems, and establish structures that have consistently led to high ratings from the South Carolina Department of Education. Her strategic guidance has also enhanced student support services through collaborations with local organizations and community associations.
To date, Dr. Tucker has played a pivotal role in the approval and development of over 10 successful charter school applications. She brings a vital industry perspective to the educational sector—one that bridges the gap between classroom instruction and real-world readiness.
Additionally, Dr. Tucker serves on the faculty of Columbia College’s Divergent Learning program, leading instructional design and contributing to its transformation into a fully online offering to better meet the needs of today’s learners.
Committed to reimagining what education can be, Dr. Tucker advocates for strong alternative educational pathways to ensure all students have the opportunity to thrive, regardless of background or learning needs.
